Mega RockStar Suite on Virgin Voyages
MEGA ROCKSTAR

Mega RockStar Quarters

The ultimate VV experience. These are the most exclusive cabins onboard with private terraces, hot tubs, outdoor showers, and your own dedicated RockStar Agent. Includes unlimited in-room bar, priority everything, and access to Richard’s Rooftop.

15 cabins per ship  • Sleeps up to 4
• Deck 15  • Types: Fab, Gorgeous, Massive, Posh Suite
• Includes: Thermal Suite, The Athletic Club, Richard’s Rooftop
“The Massive Suite at the bow of Deck 15 has the most incredible forward-facing views on the entire ship. I literally couldn’t stop staring at the ocean from the hot tub. If you can afford it, this is THE cabin.” — Steve
RockStar Suite on Virgin Voyages
ROCKSTAR

RockStar Quarters

Premium suites with extra space and VIP perks. You get a dedicated RockStar Agent, priority access to restaurants and entertainment, Richard’s Rooftop access, and Thermal Suite access. Seriously worth the upgrade for special occasions.

78 cabins per ship  • Sleeps up to 4
• Decks 14-15  • Types: Brilliant, Cheeky Corner, Seriously, Sweet Aft Suite
“The Sweet Aft Suite is my favorite RockStar cabin — you get a huge wraparound balcony at the back of the ship. Perfect for watching the wake and sipping champagne. Honeymoon perfection.” — Steve
Sea Terrace Cabin on Virgin Voyages
SEA TERRACE

Sea Terrace

The signature VV cabin — and the one most sailors book. Every Sea Terrace comes with a private balcony, the iconic red hammock (most cabins), and that incredible ocean view. The balcony alone makes it worth the price difference over an Insider.

1,138 cabins per ship  • Sleeps up to 4
• Decks 7-14  • Types: Standard, Central, XL, Limited View, Slightly Smaller
• Features: Balcony, hammock, mood lighting, rain shower
“This is the sweet spot for most cruisers. Get a midship cabin on Deck 9 or 10 for the least motion and closest to elevators. Avoid the very forward and aft positions on Deck 7 — they can be near entertainment venues.” — Steve
Sea View Cabin on Virgin Voyages
SEA VIEW

Sea View

A solid middle-ground choice — you get natural light and an ocean view through a porthole window, but no balcony. Great for solo travelers (the Solo Sea View is one of VV’s best value cabins) or couples who won’t spend much time in the room.

95 cabins per ship  • Sleeps up to 3
• Decks 5-6  • Types: Standard Sea View, Solo Sea View
“If you’re a solo traveler, the Solo Sea View is incredible value — no single supplement! The porthole is small but lets in beautiful light. These are on lower decks which means less motion too.” — Steve
Insider Cabin on Virgin Voyages
INSIDER

Insider

Interior cabins with no window or balcony — but VV makes them special with the signature mood lighting and premium finishes. These are the most affordable way to sail VV. The Social Insider connects two rooms for groups. Solo Insider has no single supplement.

105 cabins per ship  • Sleeps up to 4
• Decks 5-6  • Types: Standard, Solo Insider, Social Insider
“Don’t overlook the Insider cabins. VV’s mood lighting actually makes the room feel special, and you’ll spend most of your time exploring the ship anyway. Put the savings toward the Bar Tab or a shore excursion.” — Steve

All Sea Terrace cabins with balconies. Forward cabins may be near The Manor (noise possible on late nights). Midship cabins are ideal. Aft cabins near Pink Agave and Gunbae restaurants on the deck below.

Deck 8 — Sea Terrace Cabins

All Sea Terrace cabins. One of the best decks for Sea Terrace — far enough from entertainment, close to midship elevators. Some cabins near the aft have limited view due to ship structure.

Deck 9 — Sea Terrace Cabins (Steve’s Favorite)

Steve’s pick for the best Sea Terrace deck. Midship location, minimal motion, close to elevators, and perfectly positioned between dining and entertainment. XL Sea Terrace cabins available at the aft.

Deck 10 — Sea Terrace Cabins

All Sea Terrace cabins. Great deck with easy access to The Galley (buffet) and Test Kitchen on the decks above. Midship cabins are closest to the main elevator bank.

Deck 11 — Sea Terrace Cabins

All Sea Terrace cabins. Higher up means better views. Some edge cabins have metal balcony railings instead of glass. Central Sea Terrace cabins available midship.

Deck 17 — Top Deck Public Areas

No cabins. Home to The Athletic Club (gym), The Perch (aft lookout bar), jogging track, basketball court, and Richard’s Rooftop (RockStar exclusive). Best sunset views on the ship.

Notable Cabins — What to Look For

Cabins With Good Points

Extra Space

Some cabins are slightly larger due to ship structure. Look for cabins near bulkheads or at the ends of hallways — they often have a few extra square feet.

Larger Balcony

Corner cabins and certain positions get oversized balconies. XL Sea Terrace cabins at the aft of the ship have significantly larger outdoor space.

Close to Elevators

Midship cabins (positions 150-250) are closest to the main elevator bank. This saves you a LOT of walking over a 4-7 night voyage.

Near Pools

Deck 14-15 cabins are closest to the pool deck on Deck 16. Quick elevator ride or one flight of stairs to the main pool and sun decks.

Glass Balcony

Midship Sea Terrace cabins typically have glass balcony railings for unobstructed ocean views when sitting down. Much better than metal railings.

Iconic Red Hammock

Most Sea Terrace and above cabins include the famous red hammock on the balcony. Some edge and smaller balcony cabins get a hanging rattan chair instead.

Cabins With Potential Drawbacks

Metal Balcony Railing

Cabins at the edges of each deck may have metal railings instead of glass. This blocks your view when sitting down. Check before you book!

Near Noisy Venues

Deck 5-7 forward cabins can be near The Manor entertainment venue. Late-night bass can be noticeable. Also watch for cabins above or below restaurants.

Near Machinery

Deck 5 aft cabins may hear engine vibration or thruster noise, especially during port maneuvers. Usually minor, but light sleepers should note it.

No Hammock

Some balcony cabins don’t get the iconic red hammock due to balcony size or shape. They typically get a hanging rattan chair instead — still nice, but not the same.

Far from Elevators

Forward and aft extreme positions can be a long walk to elevators. Fine for fitness-minded sailors, but worth knowing if mobility is a concern.

Busy Corridors

Cabins near elevator banks, laundry rooms, or venue entrances may have more foot traffic in the hallway. Usually not a problem, but worth noting.

Steve’s Top Cabin Picks

Best Overall Sea Terrace

Deck 9, Midship (positions ~175-225)

Minimal ship motion, closest to elevators, glass balcony with hammock. The Goldilocks zone — not too high, not too low, not too forward, not too aft.

“This is where I recommend 90% of my clients book. You can’t go wrong with a midship Deck 9 Sea Terrace.” — Steve

Best Value Cabin

Solo Sea View (Deck 5-6)

No single supplement, natural light from porthole, lower deck = less motion. Perfect for solo sailors who want to save money for the Bar Tab.

“If you’re sailing solo, this is the play. You save hundreds on the single supplement and still get a window. Spend the savings on shore excursions.” — Steve

Best for Honeymoons

Sweet Aft Suite (Deck 15, Aft)

Wraparound balcony at the stern of the ship. Watch the wake with a glass of champagne. RockStar perks include Richard’s Rooftop and dedicated agent.

“I’ve booked dozens of honeymoons in the Sweet Aft Suite. Every single couple comes back raving about the balcony sunsets. It’s magic.” — Steve

Best for Families

Sea Terrace, Deck 10-11, Midship

Close to pools (Deck 16 above), close to The Galley for quick meals, midship for stability. Request connecting cabins if traveling with extended family.

“Families want to be close to the pool and the food. Deck 10-11 midship puts you right in the sweet spot for both.” — Steve

Best Splurge

Massive Suite (Deck 15, Forward)

Forward-facing mega suite with private terrace, hot tub, outdoor shower, and those jaw-dropping bow views. Unlimited in-room bar. The ultimate VV experience.

“Standing on the Massive Suite terrace as the ship sails away… there’s nothing like it in cruising. If it’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip, this is the cabin.” — Steve

Best Budget with Balcony

Limited View Sea Terrace (Various Decks)

Partially obstructed views = lower price, but you still get the balcony, hammock, and all Sea Terrace amenities. The view is often only blocked from one angle.

“The ‘limited view’ is usually just a lifeboat partially in the way. You still have your private outdoor space and that hammock. Smart money move.” — Steve
