We’ve done several Norwegian cruises and love the Freestyle concept. A friend said we’d love VV because of the similar casual vibe. But we also have teenagers who obviously can’t come on VV. For our next adults-only trip, is VV a good fit for NCL fans?

If you love NCL’s Freestyle cruising, you’ll LOVE VV. It takes the casual, no-schedule concept and turns it up to 11. Better dining (all included!), better entertainment, more stylish design. The main thing you’ll miss from NCL is the ship size — NCL has bigger ships with more onboard activities. But VV compensates with quality over quantity. For an adults-only trip, VV is a significant step up from NCL in my experience.

We switched from NCL to VV two years ago and haven’t looked back for our couples’ trips. The dining quality alone is a massive upgrade. On NCL we were paying extra for specialty restaurants that still weren’t as good as VV’s included ones. The vibe is similar in terms of being casual and fun, but VV feels more curated and intentional.
