Virgin Voyages just made history on the West Coast, and there are some solid deals running right now if you want in on the action. Here’s everything that happened this week and how to book smart.
Brilliant Lady’s LA MerMaiden Is Officially Underway
On April 6, Brilliant Lady pulled into the Port of Los Angeles for the very first time — and on April 7, she set sail on her LA MerMaiden voyage, marking Virgin Voyages’ official debut on the US West Coast. Over 2,000 sailors boarded for the occasion, joined by celebrities including singer and social media personality Dixie D’Amelio and actress Brec Bassinger.
This is a big deal for VV. Until now, Virgin Voyages has been a Caribbean-and-Mediterranean story. With Brilliant Lady homeporting in LA this spring, the brand is opening up an entirely new coast — and an entirely new type of itinerary.
What’s Sailing from LA
Brilliant Lady is running 5- to 8-night itineraries from Los Angeles through late April and into May, covering the Mexican Riviera and Baja California with stops in destinations like Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. If you’ve been curious about Virgin Voyages but don’t want to fly to Miami, this is your window.
After the LA season wraps, Brilliant Lady repositions north for what might be the most anticipated addition to the 2026 lineup: Virgin Voyages’ first-ever Alaska season. Starting in late May, she’ll sail roundtrip from Seattle with itineraries hitting Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, Skagway, and Hubbard Glacier. We’re talking 10-night sailings through the Inside Passage — the full Alaska experience, but with VV’s adults-only, all-inclusive twist.
Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady is a 909-foot ship carrying approximately 2,770 passengers, featuring over 20 included restaurants, Starlink Wi-Fi, and no formal dress code. All gratuities and basic beverages are included in the fare.
More VV News This Week
A couple of other developments worth flagging:
Valiant Lady arrived early at Port Saint John on April 8, kicking off her 2026 cruise season in the region ahead of schedule. She’s set to enter dry dock from May 9 to May 25 for her first major refresh since launching in 2022, which should mean a refreshed ship for her busy European summer season — including new sailings to Iceland and Greenland.
NYC sailings have moved to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal as of April 6. If you’re sailing from New York this year, make sure you update your travel plans accordingly.
This Week’s Best Virgin Voyages Deals
If the LA launch has you itching to book, here’s what’s on the table right now:
70% Off the 2nd Sailor + Up to $1,000 in Instant Savings — This is the headline promotion running across 2026 sailings. The 70% off applies to eligible cabins from Insider through XL Sea Terrace. New bookings only, valid through May 28.
$400 Onboard Credit on Europe Sailings — Select Mediterranean itineraries are throwing in up to $400 in onboard credit. If you’ve been eyeing a European voyage on Valiant Lady or Resilient Lady, this sweetens the pot significantly.
Pay in Full and Save 10% — Straightforward: pay your full balance upfront and knock an extra 10% off. This stacks nicely with the other promotions.
Georgia Resident & Military Rates — Up to 15% additional savings if you qualify. These can be combined with the main promotional offers for some of the best per-night pricing we’ve seen this year.
Sail & Save Flash Deals — VV Insider is reporting limited-time Sail & Save pricing through April 14. These are last-minute deals on select upcoming sailings, so act fast if you see availability.
Our Take
The LA expansion is exactly the kind of move that keeps VV feeling fresh. While other cruise lines have been on the West Coast for decades, Virgin Voyages brings something genuinely different — the adults-only atmosphere, the included dining and Wi-Fi, and a vibe that feels more boutique hotel than floating buffet. And the Alaska season? We’re very interested to see how VV’s signature style translates to glacier country.
If you’re considering booking, the current stack of deals makes right now one of the better windows we’ve seen in 2026. The 70% off second sailor promotion combined with the pay-in-full discount can bring the per-person cost down significantly, especially on those shorter LA sailings.
