Editor’s Note (April 6, 2026): The Wave Season deals referenced in this article expired on March 31, 2026. Virgin Voyages has launched Spring Savings 2026 with up to $1,000 in Instant Savings + 70% off the 2nd Sailor through May 28. See our updated Deals Tracker for all current promotions →

It’s been a packed week in the Virgin Voyages universe. From a groundbreaking canal crossing to podcast-powered sailings and a fleet reunion announcement that has us counting down the months, here’s everything you need to know heading into the final day of March 2026.

iHeartRadio Partnership Brings “On Air at Sea” Podcast Cruises

Virgin Voyages just dropped one of the most creative themed sailing concepts we’ve seen yet. The line is partnering with iHeartMedia to launch On Air at Sea, a series of podcast-themed cruises that blend live recordings, behind-the-scenes sessions, and host meet-and-greets with the full VV experience.

The debut voyage — branded Stuff at Sea — departs October 2, 2026, from New York aboard Valiant Lady on a five-night itinerary to Bermuda. Expect live podcast tapings, themed shore excursions, and the kind of immersive entertainment that Virgin Voyages does better than anyone in the cruise industry.

This is a smart move for VV. Podcast audiences tend to skew exactly toward the demographic that loves Virgin Voyages — adults who value experiences, culture, and doing things a little differently. We wouldn’t be surprised to see this become a recurring franchise.

Brilliant Lady Makes Historic Panama Canal Transit

On March 26, Brilliant Lady became the first Virgin Voyages ship to transit the Panama Canal — and VV made it an event, hosting an eight-hour YouTube livestream capturing the entire crossing from first lock to final exit.

Here’s what makes this especially impressive: Brilliant Lady’s three sister ships physically cannot fit through the Canal. Their lifeboat davits and the Deck 7 aft overhang push the beam beyond the Canal’s strict dimensional limits. Virgin Voyages’ naval architects redesigned Brilliant Lady with a custom davit system that pulls lifeboats further inboard, removed the aft overhang entirely, and reconfigured select mid-ship balconies on Deck 8 into a new cabin category called the “Slightly Smaller Sea Terrace.”

The result? A coast-to-coast sailing from Miami to Los Angeles that opens up an entirely new chapter for the fleet. The next Panama Canal crossing aboard Brilliant Lady departs October 29, 2026, on a 17-night voyage from Los Angeles to Miami — one of the most compelling repositioning cruises on the market.

Wave Deal Ends Tomorrow — Last Call for 80% Off Second Sailor

If you’ve been sitting on a VV booking, tomorrow (March 31) is your deadline. The March Wave 2026 offer includes 80% off the second sailor (effectively 40% off each sailor) plus up to a $300 Bar Tab on eligible cabins and voyages.

The deal applies to Base, Essential, and Premium fare classes across select sailings, though charter voyages, Mega RockStar Suites, and Solo cabins are excluded. Combined with VV’s Sail & Save pricing that’s been dropping fares as low as $89 per person per night on select 2026–2028 voyages, this is one of the best windows we’ve seen to lock in a Virgin Voyages cruise.

Don’t Tell Comedy Returns for US Comedy Fest at Sea

Virgin Voyages’ third annual US Comedy Fest sails April 11–16, 2026, roundtrip from New York to Bermuda aboard Valiant Lady. The line has partnered again with Don’t Tell Comedy, the grassroots live stand-up platform that started as a backyard show in LA in 2017.

This year’s lineup is headlined by Shapel Lacey, Emma Willmann, and Usama Siddiquee, alongside emerging talent from the NYC, LA, and UK comedy circuits. The five-night sailing packs multiple shows each evening across intimate onboard venues, surprise pop-up sets, and exclusive late-night performances.

If you’re into comedy and haven’t done a themed VV sailing before, this is an excellent entry point. The energy on these specialty voyages is next level.

Sisters at Sea — All Four Ships Meet in February 2027

Virgin Voyages confirmed one of the most ambitious events in cruise history: all four Lady ships will converge at the same coordinates in the Caribbean on February 16, 2027, in an event called Sisters at Sea.

Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady, and Brilliant Lady will align at a fixed point roughly 38 nautical miles north of Nuevitas, Cuba, bringing together more than 15,000 sailors and crew across the fleet. The celebration will include a synchronized horn salute, simultaneous deck parties on all four ships, drone cinematography, headline musical talent, special Happenings activations, and a commemorative Sisters at Sea band.

Four itineraries feed into the event: a 5-night Bahamas cruise from Miami on Scarlet Lady, a 7-night from San Juan on Valiant Lady, a 7-night eastern Caribbean from Miami on Resilient Lady, and a 10-night Caribbean voyage on Brilliant Lady.

This is going to be a bucket-list moment for VV loyalists. If you’re even remotely interested, we’d suggest booking sooner rather than later — these sailings are going to sell.

Quick Hits

  • Bungee fitness paused fleetwide: VV’s popular On-the-Upswing Bungee Class is temporarily on hold due to supply issues with maritime-grade bungee cord equipment. The cords used onboard must meet stricter maritime safety and fire code requirements, so standard fitness bungee gear can’t be swapped in. Other fitness classes — HIIT, spin, yoga — continue as normal.
  • LA & Vancouver sailing adjustments: Three West Coast sailings have been updated with arrival delays, itinerary tweaks, and one port removed due to timing changes. Check your booking if you’re on an upcoming Pacific voyage.
  • Sailing Club benefits extended through 2026: Good news for loyalty members — Virgin Voyages has confirmed that existing Sailing Club perks will carry through the full year.

Our Take

Virgin Voyages is hitting its stride in 2026. The Panama Canal milestone shows real engineering ambition, the iHeartRadio partnership signals a move into experiential content that competitors haven’t touched, and Sisters at Sea is the kind of once-in-a-brand-lifetime event that creates genuine emotional loyalty.

The Wave deal ending tomorrow is worth paying attention to if you’ve been on the fence. And if you’re planning ahead, February 2027’s fleet meetup is shaping up to be the VV sailing of the decade.

We’ll keep tracking all of it right here.
