Just booked our first Virgin Voyages cruise on Scarlet Lady in June — 5 night Dominican Daze! My wife and I are so excited. We’ve cruised with Royal Caribbean before but never VV. What are the must-knows before we go? Any tips on dining reservations, what to pack, or things we shouldn’t miss?

Congrats! You’re going to love it. The biggest tip I can give is to book your dining reservations the second they open (45 days before sailing). The Wake and Test Kitchen fill up first. Also, download the app ASAP and complete your check-in early. Welcome aboard, sailor!

Dominican Daze is amazing — Puerto Plata is gorgeous and the Beach Club at Bimini is incredible. A few things I wish I’d known on my first sailing: there’s no formal night, so pack casual/resort wear. Basic Wi-Fi is included. All restaurants are free. And don’t miss Scarlet Night — pack something red to wear!

Make sure to explore the whole ship on day one while everyone else is at the sail-away party. You’ll find all the hidden spots and won’t feel lost later. Also the Thermal Suite day pass is 100% worth it if you enjoy spa stuff. Have an amazing time!
